Dr. Berg's teaching philosophy is "to create a positive learning environment that is rigorous, 引人入胜的, supportive and effective." She has more than 30 years of university teaching experience and is a 3-time nominee for the Joe Ezzie Educator of the Year Award, and finalist in the Heidelberg Teacher of the Year Award (2023). She is also the winner of the Christian Business Faculty National Teaching Award, and winner of the Ohio Magazine Excellence in 教育 Award. 

The best reflection of Dr. Berg’s passion for teaching is stated by her students: “Dr. Berg is a professor who is a prime example of a true, all-around educator. She brings her personality and passion for what she is teaching into the classroom, creating a more relaxed and creative learning environment for students. Not only is she interested in student comprehension, but she goes above and beyond to take a genuine interest in students’ career goals and interests.” (Nominator for the 2020 Joseph Ezzie Educator of the Year Award).

Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Christian Business Faculty Association (CBFA). A regular presenter at meetings of the CBFA, she has also published articles in the journals of Harvard Business Review: Inspiring Minds, Christian Business Academy Review, Management Teaching Review, Atlantic 市场营销 Association, and 教学教授. Her research areas include resiliency, 积极心理学, 领导, and increasing student engagement. Dr. Berg also holds 2 Design Thinking Badges from IBM. 

Berg lives on a 200-acre beef cattle farm in Wayne County, Ohio with her husband of 31 years, 迈克, who teaches middle school math, 足球教练, and runs the family Polled Hereford cattle farm. 迈克 and Trish have 4 adult children (Hannah, 悉尼, Colin and Riley) and enjoy family time most of all.
